Lineage & Remembering
Alexis is a budding traditional and folk herbalist currently in apprenticeship with IndigiGolden Herbal Academy. Her work is deeply rooted in communication with plant spirits and traditional healing arts. She birthed Seeds of Being as a living act of devotion, an offering born from her remembrance of the prayers carried through her ancestral lines.
She is a daughter of many nations. Her ancestry includes Indigenous peoples of Turtle Island, from what is now known as North Carolina (Cherokee Nation), as well as Anahuac in Michoacán, Mexico. Her lineage also flows through the Zambales and Camarines Sur provinces of the colonized Philippine Islands, alongside Celtic ancestry, all of which she is honored to carry. These nations walk behind her as she paves a path forward for those in her lineage yet to come.
Through personal study of the plants and a devoted spiritual practice, Alexis has been guided to receive wisdom teachings that have cultivated a profound relationship with the Earth and the Unseen Realms. After eight years of deep descent into her shadow, she reconnected with the ancestral medicines of her maternal lineages, Turtle Island and Anahuac, from which she had been estranged for much of her life. Unearthing these parts of herself, while simultaneously deepening her devotion to Earth and Spirit and their sacred ways of guidance and reciprocity, created space for the healing of ancestral and childhood trauma.
Through this expansive internal work, she came to understand that she descends from lineages of medicine people who lived in intimate relationship with the land. These ancestors now call upon her to bring their work forward once more, expressed through the unique medicine she carries.
The Path & the Work
Alexis creates containers rooted in prayer, ritual, and embodied presence. Her work is aligned with the teachings of the Seven Sacred Directions, the cycles of life, and the natural rhythms of the Earth. She works in attunement with these ways of knowing, honoring times of growth, shedding, rest, and renewal, and allowing the plants and the land to guide the pace and depth of the work.
Alongside her earth-based studies, Alexis holds a double major degree in Nutrition Sciences and Holistic Health. Through this academic foundation, she became a certified holistic nutritionist and personal trainer, spending some years building a practice centered on holistic wellness with an emphasis on women’s health, cyclical awareness, and embodied strength. Her work emphasized nourishment, movement, and hormonal balance in alignment with the natural rhythms of the female body.
This conventional training remains woven through her private practice of Seeds of Being. She bridges her knowledge of the body and importance of nourishment, with ancestral and earth-based medicine, promoting a deep sense of holistic wellbeing within the physical, mental, emotional, & spiritual bodies of the individual and prevent dis-ease. In her work, modern understanding and traditional wisdom are not separate, but in conversation.
Over the years, Alexis has been exposed to many areas of study, all of which she weaves intuitively and cohesively into her practice. At its core, her work is rooted in spiritual herbalism and other traditional healing ways, with particular emphasis on the Mexican folk healing art of Curanderismo. She has learned from many teachers, both plant and human, and honors the lineages that guide her through sacred contribution, reverence, and reciprocity.
Her work is offered in integrity and with deep respect for the origins of the traditions she studies. Alexis is committed to non-extractive practice and gives back through ongoing contributions to Indigenous-led organizations and initiatives that protect sacred lands, preserve traditional medicines, and uphold Indigenous sovereignty. She knows that many, including herself, would not have access to these ways of life without the continued stewardship and resistance of Indigenous peoples.
She serves those walking a devotional path, those drawn to earth-based traditions, ancestral remembrance, and living in reverent relationship with the natural and unseen worlds.
Devotion & Mission
As a medicine carrier, community builder, holistic wellness guide, ceremonialist, healing arts facilitator, and educator, Alexis is devoted to guiding others back into internal balance so that our collective relationship with the Heart and the Earth may be restored for the benefit of generations to come.
Alexis is a daughter of the Earth and Cosmos and receives teachings from these living forces so that she may guide, weave, and accompany others through the depths of internal and external shadow, back toward the Heart. This is her mission. This is her purpose.

Giovanni Kefu
Guardian & Cofacilitator
Giovanni is a first-generation son of Tongan and Italian heritage, deeply rooted in the values of family, culture, and community. Growing up between two worlds, he carries forward the wisdom of both lineages with reverence, honoring connection, unity, and shared experience as essential to collective well-being.
His path has been shaped by overcoming early childhood trauma and navigating a street-influenced life, experiences that forged resilience, self-awareness, and a deep understanding of transformation. Through his own journey, Giovanni came to believe in the healing power of laughter, dance, music, storytelling, and simply being present with one another. He understands that strength is not the absence of struggle, but the willingness to evolve through it.
With years of experience in the electrical trades, Giovanni has worked closely alongside men from many walks of life. He has witnessed the pressures, isolation, and unspoken burdens that many carry. This has fueled his passion for creating healthy outlets for mental and emotional well-being, and for modeling a form of masculinity that is grounded, connected, and heart-led.
Giovanni is the owner of True to the Root Kava Bar, a business rooted in his Tongan lineage and cultural traditions, which he has brought forward in collaboration with Alexis. Through this offering, he honors ancestral ways of gathering, storytelling, and ceremonial connection, bridging these ways with modern social spaces to create places where community can slow down and remember itself.
Within Seeds of Being, Giovanni serves as a guardian and steady presence for various offerings, including Heart of the Jaguar, and supports in service during events such as the Monthly Tea Meditation and Seeds of Prayer. He carries the responsibility of protection, logistical grounding, and community care, ensuring that the spaces held are both safe and rooted.
In a world often marked by disconnection, Giovanni hopes to be a bridge for others, reclaiming ancestral ways of collective healing and reminding us that true strength is found in togetherness.
