These pieces come to the Seeds of Being Botanica through Leonor Suárez, an Indigenous Achuar woman from the Ecuadorian Amazon and the artist behind Shir Artesania Visionaria.
Leonor is an artisan, singer, mother, and longtime member of Ecuador’s spiritual community. For more than three decades, she has tended the sacred fire of Itzachilatlan and has walked traditions including Vision Quest, Sun Dance, and Star Dance. Her spiritual path is deeply woven with her relationship to nature, prayer, song, and the ceremonial life of her community.
Through Shir Artesania Visionaria, Leonor creates handwoven and beaded pieces with intention. Her jewelry and ceremonial adornments are an extension of her artistry and relationship with prayer, with pieces traveling from Ecuador to accompany people and ceremonies around the world.
Each piece in our collection is unique, carrying its own colors, patterns, and expression. Rather than mass-produced jewelry, these are handmade works of Indigenous artistry, sourced directly in support of the woman and hands who created them.
